Club:
	The Birthday bear with individually stitched jacket, that only was available exclusively to Club members, wears a casual orange cotton jacket with a white collar. The first name, date of birth and sign of the zodiac of the person for whom the bear was intended could have been embroidered on the jacket. The birthday bear is supplied in an appropriately beautiful cream velvet pouch and is accompanied by a brief summary of the characteristics associated with the respective sign of the zodiac. He is 25 cm in size and made out of mohair woven fur. He comes with a certificate of authenticity and his edition size is 4700 pieces. EAN 420399

	The 1905 Richard Steiff Teddy bear was designed by and named after Margarete's nephew Richard and was originally produced from 1905 to 1951. At the time of his introduction, Richard's rounded face, blunted snout and embroidered nose were a departure from the design of other Steiff Teddies launched in then early 1900's. He is made to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the most important bears in the world. Richard is 30 cm, five way jointed, and made from gray mohair. He comes with a beautifully bound sketchbook, containing Richard's drawings of live bears, in an embroidered bag with certificate of authenticity. His edition size is 2600 pieces. EAN 420467

	The 1892 catalog from "Filz-Spielwarenfabrik Giengen a.d. Brenz", the felt business that would become Margarete Steiff GmbH a few years later, featured a camel as the company's first logo. From the early 1900's on, camels have been an important animal in the Steiff menagerie. This Camel on a pincushion, replica 1904, which is 8 cm in size, is made from the highest quality cotton velvet and is lovingly decorated by hand. The head, neck and hump are detailed with braided long shiny mohair. The camel's tiny, lifelike face is brought to life with glass pearl eyes and intricate paintwork. His mouth is embroidered by hand. He rests peacefully on a cord-edged velvet pincushion. The camel comes in a nice box with certificate of authenticity. His edition size is 1100 pieces. 	Richard Steiff Teddy bear, Club-Gift 2005 is 7 cm in size in sitting position and comes in a box with certificate. Little Richard is made out of silver gray mohair and is 5 way jointed. Other issues in this series are a blond (1997), blue (1998), dark-brown (1999), black (2000), white (2001), light brown (2002), rosé (2003) and light blue (2004). A new series was started in 2006! 	The Event bear 2005, was only available at special Steiff trunk shows and club events, is made out of gray mohair and wears a special red vest which has the anniversary logo, “Steiff Club Event 2005” and “Happy Birthday Richard” imprinted on the back. The bear is 21 cm in size and comes in a box with certificate. His edition size is 2800 pieces. EAN 420498

	The 2005 Anniversary Set, includes the 1905 Richard Steiff Teddy bear (EAN 420467), the Camel on a pincushion replica 1904 (EAN 420474) and the Steiff Club membership for 2006. The edition size of this set is 2700 pieces. EAN 420504

	The Felt Teddy bear Hans is the third item in a series made exclusively available to Steiff club members. The name of this Teddy bear refers to Hans Hähnle, son of Margarete's aunt Appolonia, who managed in conjunction with Adolph Glatz since 1871 the Wool-Felt-Company which was founded in 1858 (known as Vereinigte Filzfabriken AG after 1881). It was Adolph, the husband of Hans' sister Marie, who strongly supported Margarete Steiff in her business. On his advice, she established her felt clothing business in 1877. Hans Teddy bear is made, 125 years later, to commemorate Hans Hähnle and the great significance of the felt material in the life of Margarete Steiff and the history of her company. His fur is made of a special Wool-Felt from adult Karakul sheep. Its fibers appear as long, shiny and usually smooth. At the Vereinigte Filzfabriken AG in Giengen, Karakul wool is willowed, carded, felted, milled, washed, dyed and dried without the aid of chemical additives to achieve a thick, naturally gray-mottled felt. The bear is 28 cm in size, stuffed with finest shearing flock as wood shavings are not ideal for stuffing felt animals. The parts are very carefully sewn together after punching using a special needle, due to the heavy, thick material. Felt ears likewise require a special approach. They are sewn on instead of being sewn in. His black eyes are made out of turned black Maple wood. Hans is given a bright neck scarf of medium-course linen. Rounded out by a crochet fringe of flax and a decorative brooch. The scarf is fastened to the bear's body. He is limited to 500 pieces only. The button is made of brushed stainless steel and bearing the initials MS. The tag is elegant in black with silver lettering, individually woven and consecutively numbered. He comes in a box with certificate of authenticity. Flowers Teddy bear (2004) was the first, Haute Couture Teddy bear (2005) was the second, Il Veneziano Teddy bear (2006) the fourth and Fairytales Teddy bear (2007) the fifth in this series. 	The Haute Couture Teddy bear is the second item in a series made exclusively available to Steiff club members. The bear is 33 cm in size, stuffed with wood shavings and only limited to 500 pieces. He is completely different from the first Teddy bear. Instead of mohair is he clothed in an exclusive tweed fabric of the type predominantly used in very elegant, breathtakingly expensive suits. His tweed coat was designed in the Jakob Schlaepfer studio in St. Gall and was woven in Northern Italy. Delicate silver colored holographic sequins in chains are joined together with yarn and stitched onto a backing material in exact accordance with a drawing. The tweed is then applied to the reverse side and the backing material is scorched away. He is fitted with a pale pink bow, the soles of his feet are made out of pure Indian dupion silk, his rosé colored eyes are made out of Murano glass and he has been filled with wood shavings. The button is made of brushed stainless steel and bearing the initials MS. The tag is elegant in black with silver lettering, individually woven and consecutively numbered. He comes in a box with certificate of authenticity. Festival Specials:
	Teddy Rose was developed by Margarete Steiff GmbH as an exclusive article for the 9th Steiff Festival in Giengen, on behalf of the event organizer GAF Guenther Pfeiffer GmbH. It is a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. The bear is based on the pin-colored Teddy Bear which was made between 1925 and 1928 with the article number 5330,1K, which formed the basis for the Teddy Clown and is today one of the most sought-after Steiff rarities. Teddy Rose stands 44cm tall, has a squeaker and big dark-brown eyes with black pupils, and his nose and claws are hand-embroidered with brown thread. On his left sole the words "9th Steiff Festival - Giengen 2005" are embroidered, while the white flag carries red lettering and the "Button in Ear" is gold-plated. He does not come in a box but has a small certificate of authenticity. EAN 655845

	Anniversary Teddy bear Sorty has been developed by Margarete Steiff GmbH as an exclusive article for GAF Guenther Pfeiffer GmbH, which is celebrating two special anniversaries in 2005. It is 25years since GAF Guenther Pfeiffer GmbH was founded and 10 years since its first "Steiff Sortiment" collectors' catalog was published. "Sorty" therefore proudly carries his miniature edition of the "Steiff Sortiment 1947-95" with him at al times. This bear is part of a limited edition of 1500 pieces, and is modeled on his ancestor, the "Baerle" ("Little Bear") from 1908. He stands 28 cm tall and his fur is made of top-quality white alpaca plush. He has green eyes with black pupils, and his nose and claws are hand-stitched in dark-brown thread. His white ear tag has red lettering and his Steiff "Button in Ear" is gold-plated. He does not come in a box but has a small certificate of authenticity. EAN 655944

	The friars of the Great St. Bernard Hospice, located in Switzerland at elevation 2500 m, and their St. Bernard dogs have been inseparable partners for centuries. Saint Bernard built the hospice between 1045 and 1050 on Roman ruins. The friars and their St. Bernard's guided and saved the lives of many travelers. The legendary dog Barry the First, who lived from 1800 to 1814, is said to have alone saved the lives of 40 persons. Although the Saint Bernard's have not been used as rescue dogs for more than 50 years, they are nonetheless a major attraction for tens of thousands of visitors every year. Established in January, the Barry of the Great St. Bernard Foundation assumed responsibility for the breeding program on 1. April 2005. The friars are represented on the foundation's board by their abbot and thus have a voice in decision-making. St Bernard with Barry is developed in co-operation with the foundation and consists of St Bernhard, 30 cm in size, made from mohair, and Barry, 14 cm, also made from mohair. The monk wears a habit and a felt hat, as well as a real silver cross on a black cord. The sitting St. Bernard Barry features a leather collar and a hand painted cask with authentic metal trim. This set is limited to 1500 pieces and a share of the sales revenues will be donated to the Barry of the Great St. Bernard Foundation. 	A truly irresistible Steiff original from the turn of last century! Designed originally as a humorous novelty in 1904, this black and yellow velvet excelsior stuffed "Überdax" (Dachshund) 1904 is only 8 cm high but 22 cm long. A larger version of this article was recently auctioned at the Steiff Festival for $7,200! He is limited to 3000 pieces, has glass eyes and comes in a box with certificate of authenticity. 	"Überdax", the overlong dachshund, is the second article in this unusual series. The first replica was modeled on an "Überdax" that Richard Steiff designed in honor of his own dachshund. This is because, when Richard Steiff was late coming home from work, his little dog used to catch a train by himself and get off at the piece of woodland where he used to go hunting with his master - as if it was the most natural thing in the world - much to the amazement of the people in Giengen. This new model is an astonishing 60 cm long and has been made of fine cotton velvet. He is stuffed with Swiss wood shavings at the front and rear and soft-filled in the middle. 	The Mohair camel on wheels from 1908, Bactrian or two humped, desert king is excelsior stuffed, with a red embroidered saddle cloth, leather harness, and cast iron wheels. Camels, a symbol for distant lands and great adventures, were of great significance in the early Steiff range. Even the first registered trademark (in the 1892 catalogue) shows a camel. A similar camel on wheels belongs to the collection of moving animals that Wilhelm II., King of Württemberg, ordered for his grandchildren in 1911. 	The 28 cm, golden blond Meistertrunk Teddy bear commemorates Mayor Nusch, who saved the German town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1631. General Tilly, a commander in the Imperial Army, seized the Protestant town. The town councilors were sentenced to death and the town was due to be pillaged. In its terror, the council offered the angry general a welcoming drink in a splendid tankard containing 3¼ liters of wine. He took a long draught and his mood was tempered by the wine. He gave the councilors a last chance: "If one of you can empty this tankard in one draught, I will be merciful." After some hesitation, former Mayor Nusch agreed to try, and before the amazed eyes of the crowd, he succeeded in emptying the tankard in one draught. Tilly kept his promise and spared Rothenburg. 	In 2005, Margarete Steiff GmbH celebrated its 125th anniversary. To mark that occasion, Steiff Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH had opened a new Steiff museum on the grounds of the company's headquarters. It is a museum for the whole family, and is called "Die Welt von Steiff". The elliptical building is intended to symbolize the "Button in Ear", the trademark of Margarete Steiff GmbH. Zurich architect Andreas Ramseier believes that the museum is a consistent reflection of his philosophy of corporate architectural design.
