Steiff Club
	Big 2020 Teddy bear, is 70 cm in size, 5-way jointed, filled with wood shavings, made from a platinum gray colored long-pile linen and only limited to 140 pieces. Made from sustainable materials, this majestic bear reflects total excellence in every possible detail. It took Steiff's senior designer, Dietmar Simon, more than three months of refinement and multiple prototypes. To bring his creation to life, each piece requires two days of production time. He has “Memoreyes”, an Australian brand that specializes in manufacturing eyes, that give the authentic look of the old shoe buttons found on antique Steiff bears. Every eye is moulded by hand. Big 2020 debuts an innovative, long-pile, natural linen fabric developed by Steiff Schulte. For its paw pads, Steiff selected “Violan”, a new fabric that is described by its manufacturer Metz Textil, as “a purely herbal material". Big bear’s nose is cast from fine dark grey pewter and studded with seven “black diamond” crystals. It was manufactured by Saller, the noteworthy engraver and toy-making firm that has been providing artisan-crafted accessories for Steiff for many years. Big bear is adorned with an etched 1.2 mm thick medallion which depicts the Steiff 140th anniversary logo. Made of polished stainless steel, the medal is made in Germany by Ätztechnik Herz, a highly respected firm with over 40 years of experience who is one of the leaders in etching technology in Europe. In addition to the 140th anniversary embroidered logo, each bear will have its edition number stitched upon its Violan left paw pad. He comes in a box with certificate of authenticity. 	Year of the rat, is 11 cm in size, not jointed, is made from white colored alpaca and is limited to 1500 pieces. Rat is the first of all zodiac animals. According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first. Optimistic and energetic, people born in the Rat year are likable by all. They are sensitive to other’s emotions but are stubborn with your opinion. Their personality is kind, but due to weak communication skills, their words may seem impolite and rude. On the financial side, they like saving and can be stingy. However, their love for hoarding will sometimes cause them to waste money on unnecessary things. As his name implies, his primary craving is cookies, but he can (and often does) consume anything and everything, from apples and pie to letters, flatware, and hubcaps. Hinamatsuri, also called Doll's Day or Girls' Day, is a special day in Japan. Celebrated on 3 March of each year, platforms covered with a red carpet-material are used to display a set of ornamental dolls (hina-ningyo) representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. Families with young daughters mark this day by setting up such a display of dolls inside the house. They offer rice crackers and other food to the dolls.
