Steiff Club
	The Birthday bear with individually stitched jacket, that only was available exclusively to Club members, wears a casual orange cotton jacket with a white collar. The first name, date of birth and sign of the zodiac of the person for whom the bear was intended could have been embroidered on the jacket. The birthday bear is supplied in an appropriately beautiful cream velvet pouch and is accompanied by a brief summary of the characteristics associated with the respective sign of the zodiac. He is 25 cm in size and made out of mohair woven fur. He comes with a certificate of authenticity and his edition size is 4700 pieces. EAN 420399

	Teddy bear Franz, is a homage to Franz Steiff, one of Margarete's nephews and the driving force for organization, purchasing and sales within the company. He came up with the idea of protecting Steiff products against plagiarism with a "Button in Ear" in 1904. Teddy bear Franz corresponds to the type of Teddy bear produced in 1904, is made of the finest mohair plush, is 32 cm in size and comes in a velvet bag with certificate of authenticity. His paw linings and the soles of his feet are made of woolen felt and he is accompanied by a very unusual accessory: a wooden stamp that has been modeled on the company stamp with elephant trademark that was used in 1904. Other decorative features include a porcelain pendant on a russet-colored satin ribbon and the gold-plated elephant "Button in Ear". The edition size is 5700 pieces. EAN 420405

	The Felt elephant on wheels, was created on the basis of the elephant of the elephant trademark, with his trunk curved upwards to form the "S" that stood for the Steiff brand name all those years ago. Like the historical originals, he is very simple; the only accessory accompanying him is the elephant-embossed gold-plated button trademark. 	Steiff Club membership gift 2004 Teddy bear, is 7 cm in size which comes in a box with certificate. He is fully jointed, is made from a light blue colored mohair, has black eyes and his nose is stitched in a black color. EAN 420429

	Bear & Elephant Egg Cosy set. The Bear and Elephant are each 12 cm, made out of mohair and come in a box with certificate of authenticity. The bear has a green satin bow around his neck, while the elephant's bow is russet-colored. This is the third set in a series of three. The other ones are Rabbit and Lamb (2002) and Hen and Chick (2003). The edition size is 2660 pieces. EAN 420436

	The German Event bear 2004 was only available at special Steiff club events. He is made out of long-pile brown mohair and wears a blue felt waistcoat with the Elephant motif on the back. The event-specific date is printed on the front of the felt waistcoat. The bear is 21 cm in size and comes in a box with certificate. The edition size is 2350 pieces. EAN 420443

	The Flowers Teddy bear is the first item in a series made exclusively available to Steiff club members. The bear is 33 cm in size, stuffed with wood shavings and only limited to 500 pieces. The fur of this Teddy bear is embroidered with a fascinating floral decoration which has never been seen before. The high quality mohair plush supplied by Schulte first goes to Switzerland, where it is prepared for the production of the Teddy bears. Bernhard Hollenstein from the canton of St. Gallen, one of Switzerland's last remaining hand embroiderers, applies a charming floral decoration of alpine roses, gentian and edelweiss to the fabric using a 19th Century embroidery machine. The design has been specially created for Steiff. The embroidered plush is then send back to Giengen, where it is used to produce these unmistakable Teddies. The bear has a new designed button and tag. The button is made of brushed stainless steel and bearing the initials MS. Steiff Festival Specials
	Mommey is the 8th special for the Steiff Festival and is the fourth and last in this series. She comes in an edition of 3000 pieces, is made of a long-pile fiery red tipped mohair, 32 cm in size, has a apricot colored bib and a growler. She has black eyes and her nose and the claws on her front and rear paws are hand-stitched with black yarn. "8. Steiff Festival - Giengen 2004" is embroidered on the sole of her left foot. She comes with a small certificate of authenticity but does not have a box. Further issues in this series are Sandey (2001), Candey (2002) and Daddey (2003). EAN 655715

	Felt Rabbit with basket-pincushion, has been produced in an edition of 500 pieces at the Steiff Festival in Giengen Germany. The basket which the rabbit carries on his back can be used as a pincushion. The rabbit is 14 cm in size and comes with certificate of authenticity but does not have a box. EAN 671913

Steiff Licensed Articles
	The Bose pig is 35 cm in size and made from pink woven fur. The pig is not limited and was not available in stores. It comes with a certificate in a nice wooden box. EAN 072536

	Beatrix Potter - Squirrel Nutkin was available world wide except in the USA. In 1904 Steiff became the first company to produce toy interpretations of Beatrix Potter's Tales. Exquisitely modeled, the very splendid Squirrel Nutkin embodies the charm of the Tales and the natural world which inspired them. "Once upon a time there was a tale about a tail - a tail that belonged to a little red squirrel, and his name was Nutkin." Beatrix Potter spent the summer of 1901 with her family on the shores of Derwentwater in the Lake District. It was here she found inspiration to begin the story of Squirrel Nutkin, a cheeky squirrel who is finally punished by Old Brown. He is made out of reddish brown mohair, 15 cm in size, comes in a limited edition of 1500 pieces in a box with certificate of authenticity. 	Beatrix Potter - Benjamin Bunny was available world wide except in the USA. In 1904 Steiff became the first company to produce toy interpretations of Beatrix Potter's Tales. In that same year Steiff became the first company to produce a toy interpretation of Ms Potter's legendary Peter Rabbit. Today Steiff are proud to pay tribute to his special cousin. "One morning a little rabbit set off - with a hop, skip and a jump - to call upon his relations" and so began The Tale of Benjamin Bunny. The real-life Benjamin Bunny was a tame rabbit of Beatrix whom she sketched constantly and whose exploits continually amused her. In 1904 The Tale of Benjamin was published, a tale about a self-confident rabbit who makes himself quite at home in Mr. McGregor's garden. 	The Astronaut Teddy bear, is 23 cm in size and made of blond mohair. He comes dressed in a typical blue space overall with space helmet. This bear was distributed to participants of the international air show Berlin Germany: the ILA 2004. This show is hold every other two years. 	The Otmar Alt Painter Teddy bear, is the fourth issue from the cooperation between Steiff and ars mundi. This work of art is 31 cm in size and limited to 2004 pieces. His is made out of a short cut green colored mohair, wears hand cut felt clothes and shoes and carries a rucksack on his back. As an extra ordinary thing is the nose jointed as well and can be turned around. In his rucksack carries he a whipping top designed by the artist and in his right hand a brush used by the artist. He comes with a hand signed numbered poster by the artist Otmar Alt. A miniature easel made out of wood is included as well. The set comes in a box with certificate of authenticity. 	The Driver Teddy bear with Maerklin HO locomotive consists out of 10 cm Steiff Locomotive driver and a Maerklin HO Locomotive with the number 94260. The Steiff miniature bear dressed as the locomotive driver wears a red felt jacket and blue felt cap. He is made out of white mohair and 5-way jointed. 	The Teddy bear Denti was issued by New Image Dental a management consultancy for Dental offices. New Image Dental was employed by the foundation "Baerenherz" to do a campaign to help families with very ill children. Part of the proceeds of the sale of Denti will go to the foundation "Baerenherz". Denti is made out of blond mohair, 32 cm in size and limited to 2004 pieces. He is dressed in a typical dentist outfit and carries a blue toothbrush in one of his pockets. On the front of his white jacket is a blue tooth printed and on the back "Eine Aktion von New Image Dental Agentur fuer Praxismarketing fuer Baerenherz Die Stiftung fuer schwerstkranke Kinder" which free translated means "A campaign from New Image Dental management consultancy for Barenherz a foundation for very ill children". 	The LGB Friends for Life Locomotive carries a 6 cm blond mohair Steiff Teddy bear, with yellow tag, dressed as a traditional locomotive driver. This model is equipped with an onboard MTS decoder. 	DaimlerChrysler Heart of the Motorcar Teddy bear is 9 cm in size, made of blue mohair and has a hand-stitched nose, which comes in three colors, i.e. rose, green or yellow. When the ingenious inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach developed the first fast-running engine in 1886 in the southern German town of Bad Cannstatt, they set in motion what has become the motorcar's conquest of world. From 1904 onwards the Daimler Engine Company manufactured its famous vehicles in neighboring Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. Today Untertürkheim is responsible within the DaimlerChrysler Group for manufacturing the engines, axles and gearboxes for all Mercedes passenger cars worldwide. In commemoration of the festivities surrounding the 100th year anniversary of this traditional site, which is also referred to as the "Heart of the Motorcar", Margarete Steiff GmbH has designed these special edition Teddy bears. This Steiff baby item was not available in the shops and could only be obtained during the promotion of the 70th anniversary for Nestlé Alete baby food. One had to collect 70 labels of Nestlé Alete baby food products and send them in to obtain the Nestlé Alete Teddy bear. EAN 994272

	The Dixi BMW Teddy bear, was issued to commemorate the 75th year of BMW automobile construction (1929-2004). The bear is made out of a light-brown tipped mohair, is 32 cm in size and limited to 1929 pieces. He wears a blue mechanics overall which has the BMW emblem on front and caries a metal tool box with the BMW emblem on it. It is very unusual, although this bear is limited, he does have a neutral box but not a certificate of authenticity. EAN 994357

	This Nutcracker "Steiff Teddy Bear Maker" comes from the Erzgebirge mountain region in Eastern Germany and is made by the Christian Ulbricht Holzkunst company which is Europe's leading manufacturer of nutcrackers. This 36 cm tall nutcracker has been made according to the traditional art of wood carving and has been creatively outfitted as a typical Santa Claus designer of Steiff Teddy bears. He holds a 16 cm tall Teddy bear made of mohair. This set is a limited edition of 2500 nutcrackers/bears, does not come in a special box and does not have a certificate. 	The Humanitas red ribbon Teddy bear is 17 cm in size and limited to 1500 pieces. He is made out of white mohair, comes with a special breast tag, a red ribbon and his paws embroidered with "Humanitas" and "Red Ribbon". Some of the proceeds of the sale of this Teddy bear will go to the HIV research and to help people with AIDS. Steiff Replica Limited Editions
	The Elephant on wheels 1903/1904 is a reproduction of a piece made in 1903/04, stands on sturdy cast-iron wheels and has a red felt embroidered saddlecloth. He is stuffed with excelsior and has wooden eyes and playful tusks. Importantly, this elephant has the original stainless steel elephant logo "Button in Ear"; one of only three 2004 Steiff limited edition products wearing this piece of history! His consecutively numbered tag is sewn into the back seam of the left leg. 	Monkey 60PB 1903 is one of the most historically important replica. He is one of the very first jointed animals produced by Steiff in 1903. This monkey made his debut on the cover of the 1903/04 Steiff catalog, dancing with PB55, the world's first jointed Teddy. Monkey PB60 is string jointed and made from distressed mohair and felt. 	Jocko 1929 became 75 years young in 2004! Although most of us are familiar with the brown version, Jockos were produced both in brown and white in the first half of last century. 	The Scotty terrier 1934 is based on an original 1934 Scotty dog from the Steiff archives. Keeping true to the original, this Scotty has two wooden sticks, originally designed to keep his feet in position and to protect him from damage during the different manufacturing processes within the factory. 	The Bear 28 PB 1904 has metal rod connectors which makes him far more durable than his string jointed predecessor 55 PB! The original PB 28 made his debut in 1904. To mark his 100th birthday, he has been produced again to his original design, including wood eyes and a sealing-wax nose, complete with scratches and finger marks. 28 PB has the original stainless steel elephant logo "Button in Ear"; one of only three 2004 Steiff limited edition products wearing this piece of history! 	The Baerle 43 PAB 1904 is 43 cm tall when seated and 60 cm when standing. He is crafted by hand in the traditional artistic manner. He is a true and accurate replica in many ways. The mohair has been exactly reproduced after the original. He is softly stuffed with wooden shavings and his limbs are jointed a little bit loose to give him the true feeling of being a well beloved, vintage Teddy bear. Just as the original, Baerle 43 PAB has wooden shoe-button eyes; his mouth, nose and the four claws on each of his paws are carefully stitched by hand. He proudly wears a true elephant button made of stainless steel, which makes him a very special piece. The replica’s ear tag couldn’t be on his left ear, as at that time Steiff products didn’t have ear tags yet. This is why it is sewn into the side seam under his left arm. This item was only sold at the house were Margarete Steiff was born in Lederstrasse 26, Giengen Germany. The birth home of Margarete Steiff was opened to the public in 2003. Margarete Steiff established in this house in 1877 her business and produced skirts, clothes and jackets mostly from felt. She produced here as well this newspaper stand which is richly embroidered. 	The Asian Santa Claus 2004 is a special edition for Australia, China, Hong Kong , Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. 	Vienna Ballerina Teddy bear, the Austria exclusive, is issued to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the Vienna State Opera. She is limited to 1500 pieces, 32 cm in size, made out of apricot colored mohair and has a music box which plays the famous song "Wiener Blut". The Vienna Ballerina, a stylish tiptoe dancer, comes with Laced ballet shoes which grace her dainty feet and her silken dress puffs up as she dances, past the most beautiful squares in the city. The ballerina is presented on a mahogany-colored wooden stand with an engraved brass plaque, comes in a velvet bag with certificate of authenticity. And in 1905, he was the first German department store owner to turn his company into a joint-stock company. 	Richard and his Sketchbook is a 46 cm bear, limited to 1500 pieces and produced to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Richard Steiff 1905 bear. This bear has a beautiful silver gray mohair with a nice warm brown undercoat, as the original was brown turned gray, and the paw pads are airbrushed to give an antique feel. Richard comes with a small sketchbook featuring re-prints of original artwork done by Richard Steiff. Along with his sketches, Richard used his sketchbook to make observations and notes about the animals he was studying. His original sketchbook is in the Steiff Archives in Germany. Richard Steiff was the nephew of Steiff founder, Margarete Steiff. He was an accomplished artist and a graduate of the Stuttgart Art School.
